School Visits
Would you like us to visit your school and do a talk about Gunieas Pigs?
United Cavy Carers are a group of 4 people, 3 in the Northwest of England and 1 on the South Coast of England, who breed and love Guinea Pigs (also known as Cavies). Our aim is to educate people to the charm and care of our favourite animals.
As well as Showing, Breeding and Loving Guinea Pigs 'United Cavy Carers' Go around about to schools and shows to talk to children and adults alike, to show off their guinea pigs, and most of all teach of their ways and their needs. Guinea Pigs are not just a child's pet to be put in a hutch at the bottom of the garden, they are charming, fun and loving. They come in all shapes and sizes and with their own characters.
UCC believe that Children are the future (isn't that a lyric in a song). Children are the next generations adults, teach children about animals, how to care for them, love them, and most of all RESPECT them and it will be better for all of us.
Following this ideal Dawn & Heather from UCC like to go around schools (at the schools invitation) and talk to the children, we take along some of our guinea pigs, and we make it fun but informative.
The topics we cover are:
What is a Guinea Pig ?
Feeding
Housing
Grooming and Care
We then have a question and answer session and then allow the children to handle the animals (supervised).
We also leave some information after the visit.
We make no charge for these visits and they are not a 'selling' exercise, all we ask for is a cuppa.
If you are a school in the Stockport/Manchester areas of Cheshire and would like UCC to visit your school please contact us by email here with the subject of 'School talks'.
